1819 E. 101 Street
Cleveland
The Wright Fuel Cell Group Headquarters, located near University Circle, is just one of the many labs where fuel cell testing, research, and analysis is being done by WFCG. Many other WFCG labs exist throughout the state, each offering different facilities, equipment and technical experts.
The Wright Fuel Cell Group is expanding its powerful set of existing university capabilities to provide a comprehensive fuel cell development environment – one with truly unparalleled features, and the strength of world-class technical expertise. Dedicated to meeting the needs of Wright Fuel Cell Group members, these facilities and equipment span technologies including PEM, SOFC, DMFC and PAFC.
Prototyping Centers
Fuel Cell Test Bed
This facility gives members the ability to test a number of fuel
cell systems and components, including stacks. Tests range from single
cells and short stacks to large systems and balance of plant components.
Testing of systems up to 100 kW is enabled by a cooperative activity with
NASA-Glenn Research Center. Grid connection takes place at AEP’s Dolan
Technology Center.
Stark State College of Technology Prototyping Center
A full-featured facility, co-designed by industry to assist in the
pre-commercialization prototyping and demonstration stages of the development
of fuel-cell based power generation systems. Tape production, punching, lamination,
plasticizer burnout, sintering and stacking are facilitated.
A 10,000-sq. ft. clean room allows multi-layer ceramic processing
for planar solid oxide fuel cells. Space for lease enables companies to conduct
separate-effects testing for component evaluation and systems prototype assembly,
with built-in quality assurance testing.
